Medication guidance prior to acid reflux testing

The following is guidance for taking medication prior to Oesophageal Manometry with pH testing. It is important that you consult your General Practitioner before making any changes to your medication.

Stop 7 days prior to test date:-

LOSEC (Omeprazole) NEXIUM (Esomeprazole)
PARIET(Rabeprazole Sodium) PROTIUM (Pantoprazole)
ZOTON (Lansoprazole)

Stop 3 days  prior to test date:–

Acid Suppressant Drugs Motility Altering Drugs
AXID (Nizatidine) ALVERINE
FAMOTIDINE (Pepcid) BUSCOPAN
TAGAMET (Cimetidine) CISAPRIDE (Prepulsid)
ZANTAC (Ranitidine) DOMPERIDONE (Motilium)
AXID (Nizatidine) GASTROBID / GASTROMAX
FAMOTIDINE (Pepcid) MAXOLON
TAGAMET (Cimetidine) MEBEVERINE
ZANTAC (Ranitidine) METOCLOPRAMIDE
ZANTAC (Ranitidine) PEPPERMINT OIL

Stop 12 hours prior to test appointment time:-

Acilone Algicon
Altacite Plus Asilone
Gaviscon Maalox
Mucaine Rennies
Settlers
